with my first air force
paycheck
i bought not only a carton
of camels but
a cheap record player and
an album of barrelhouse
jazz by turk murphy
and his bunch
i loved dixie and still do
i’ve given up cigarettes long since
i got married in the service
a little later on
and i still love her
but don’t have any idea what we
first
purchased together
besides food
