Opium

By Tom Hartman

Published July 1st, 2001

Another zine where readers can expect to find laughs is Opium
magazine, the highlight of which might be C.S. Howe’s
“interview” with Philadelphia 76ers star and league MVP Allen Iverson,
who explains his “NBN” tattoo and voices his respect for both George
and George W. Bush’s choice of mates (“You gotta respect a couple of
crackers who like big asses”). Worth clicking, too, is the collection
of overheard bar conversations (others of which might have been
forwarded, for the purpose of versification, to the contributors to
Opium’s tiny poetry section).
