Opium
Edited by Dunston Procott

reviewed by Tom Hartman

Another zine where readers can expect to find laughs is Opium magazine, the highlight of which might be C.S. Howe's "interview" with Philadelphia 76ers star and league MVP Allen Iverson, who explains his "NBN" tattoo and voices his respect for both George and George W. Bush's choice of mates ("You gotta respect a couple of crackers who like big asses"). Worth clicking, too, is the collection of overheard bar conversations (others of which might have been forwarded, for the purpose of versification, to the contributors to Opium's tiny poetry section).

Tom Hartman has been a regular contributor to Pif since 1999. He lives in Philadelphia.
