grade Artwork Submission Guidelines

What We Like:

We love passionate, emerging artists eager to share their work with the world.

Artwork needn’t be too literal. We encourage artwork that relates to common literary themes; however, Pif Magazine is an equal opportunity artwork publisher, so feel free to submit anything that encourages discussion and contemplation.

Artwork that tells a story, revealing the similarity between writing and art-making while inspiring connections between both worlds.

How to Submit Art to Pif Magazine:

Email artwork (limit of 5 pieces per month), a brief artist statement (200 words or less), and a short description of the submitted artwork (medium, title, and any additional information) to artwork@pifmagazine.com.

How Your Art Will Be Used:

Submitted artwork will be considered, selected, and paired with monthly literary selections to enhance the overall reading experience. Selections will be based on whether submitted artwork can stand alone in addition to strengthening readers’ connection to selected literary submissions.  We may choose to use a single piece of artwork or we may desire to do a fuller artist interview.  If selected, our editors will discuss which direction we’re considering as we move forward.

Requirements:

  • Artwork must be in JPEG, GIF or PNG digital format.
  • Photos MUST be at least 2,000 pixels wide.
  • All mediums will be considered.
  • Artwork must include name of artist, title of artwork, and medium of artwork in order to be eligible for consideration.

Rights:

Prior to submitting your work, please ensure you have read and understand Pif Magazine‘s Rights and Royalties policy.  By submitting your work to us you are agreeing to the terms explained therein.

By submitting artwork you grant Pif Magazine a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, display, distribute, and publish your artwork in any Pif Magazine materials.

You retain all other rights to your artwork and will always be granted credit.

Post-submission, Pif Magazine will have exclusive control over literary and art pairings, placement of art, and any changes to size and/or resolution that it deems necessary for publication.
