PAST POETRY MORE POETRY

Just thinking about his "Readymades" (corkscrew,
stool-mounted bikewheel, famous urinal)
immediately I see how my chair
from the Good Will ($12.99) is a puffy brown
readymade, and my papercutter,
its arm at priapic angle, White-Out
scabs on its matte-gray grid, and likewise
the guy who honks his horn three times
at 2 a.m., he's a readymade
like my cat on my lap, like I myself,
and a cry of drunk laughter from Bath Street.
