I am one of the editors of the literary zine "OGDENZINE", from the city of Salvador, state of Bahia, Brazil. We feature works of fiction, short stories and novels, film, music and arts reviews. While surfing on the web I found your publication, and I liked a lot, wishing that such a reference site would exist over here in Brazil. Congratulations for your work in the Pif Magazine.

I *love* that story. I found the dialogue stilted, contrived and thus perfect: the uncomfortable banter of father and son. Having tried to set many trees on fire as a child, I found myself wishing I'd had company.

Dear Pif Magazine,

Tom Hartman's very kind review of BlueEar.com for you just came to my attention. Thanks very much! He says many very kind things, and we certainly appreciate your decision to give us attention. I wonder if I may be in touch with Tom Hartman directly? I'd like to thank him personally.

Best regards, Ethan Casey

Dear Editors,

Loved the sensual language in poem by Deborah Byrne. I think the new American sonnets are skillfull and love reading them. Would like to know what is behind this poem. Has she been in other issues? Also really like the Lefkowitz poems. This was the best poetry I've seen in your ejournal so far.

Dear Editors,

First time I've been compelled to write. I very much enjoyed Deborah Byrne's poem, "Vacancies for Belief." Noticed she is from the area I live in...does she have a book, where else is she published, does she do readings? Beautiful imagery in her poem and really like the word "ochelli." Think I'm gonna steal it and use it in a story.

Tell her she's inspiring!

Cloninger's review is dead on. Of his father's generation, I know the writers and the songs and they are part of the tapestry of my youth and who I am today. What I didn't realize were the connections between the song writers and their song writing. I very much enjoyed his insights about the music. For instance, it hadn't occurred to me that, like Cloninger, while I very much enjoy Blues, it doesn't effect me the way these songs do. I agree that, looking back, I hear nothing to compare to the quality of the music that's been written since.

Thanks: John deGravelles
