Here come
the flowers of fever,
the chimera speak
of angel flesh.

     Always a sacrifice,
tiny frogs under foot.
Lisianthus unfolds.
It is time
the swallows sink south,
and meadows are ripe
with monarch survival.
September,
the grapevines
are full of savior.

Under blood leaves,
no mercy.
We discover
we're already extinct.
