Pop Soda Fizz Carolyn Keogh Poetry

drink the bottle dry,

carbonation floating like feather-wings.

flesh aches when it’s left,

throbs and pulses–

tingling like pop soda fizz.

act like an animal,

dangling in darkness on all fours.

meaning wanes when the lights shut off,

waffles and lingers–

floats in the darkness like fruit flies.
