deep in the hawaiian laguna

deep in the palm frond lagoon

there’s an animal that waits

for you softly

there’s an animal waiting for you

and the warm sweet air is swaying

as the waves stroke the land

and the sea,

and the smell

of the air is hibiscus

and the smell of the earth

is the sea

and under the milk clear moon

ukuleles softly swell

as the sea

and the leaves

dance like dancing hips

and the swell of the boys

in the sea

deep in the hawaiian laguna

deep in the palm frond lagoon

there’s an animal that waits

for you softly

there’s an animal waiting for you
